I can not believe it has been 8 weeks since my last Blog Post.No excuses!
After we left Vietnam we spent 3 days in Bangkok. We really enjoyed our second visit as everything seemed familar.
We used the river ferries extensively and visited the Royal Palace gleeming in gold.
The highlight for me was viewing the Queens extensive wardrobe on display.
Every minuite of every day has been full on since we touched down in the UK on the 11th of July.
We left Asia thinking we would get a reprive from the heat but arrived in London in the middle of a heat wave. The heat was nothing like the high 30s we had experienced with high humidity. We found it very plesant.
We arrived at Heathrow at 6.50am after an 11hour flight. It took us 1 1/2 hours to shuffle through immigration then another 1 1/2 hours negotiating the underground train system to reach Andrew at his work in the city.Annika met us there and escorted us back to their flat in Hackney on a London double decker.
Day two was dedicated to looking for a car.By 3.00pm we had payed a deposit on a Ford Focus, 7 years old but with low miles and in very good condition.
The next hurdle was car insurance.Nothing like NZ.We were put through hoops for days before we had a deal.
