We returned to London after 9 wonderful days in Northern Ireland.
With a 1 1/2 day turn around we were on our way again, this time taking the car to Europe.
We drove out of London at 3.00am (so easy with minimal traffic) and headed for Dover and with the aid of Tomtom found our way to the ferry terminal through a labirinth of overpasses underpasses and switch backs. We were early so out came the trusty thermos while we queued to board.
The sun was just rising so our first view of the white cliffs were touched with gold.
The crossing to Dunkirk was very uneventful with calm seas.
We drove straight off into France,(No customs!) and very soon entered Belgium.Passing a road sign for Bruges we turned off not knowing what we would find.Behind a modern town was a wonderful old town with canals and narrow streets and shops full of chocolates, lace and tourists.
