Brussels

We left Bruges and headed for Brussels where we were meeting our friend Luce. Thanks to Tomtom we by passed the city centre and entered a leafy suburb where we found Luce who is recouperating after a nasty fall with many broken bones.
Brussels is an amazing city and we were very fortunate to be given a guided tour by Daniele  Luces cousin and Emile her husband.
Every second shop was a chocolate shop!!! I couldn't believe it.I resisted and feasted with my eyes only. There were also huge displays of beautifully presented cakes.Mouth watering.
Emile was a Belgian beer expert, Jeff thoroughly enjoyed his re-education with lots of tastings!
The architecture is so different with many historic buildings and churches.
August is when all the Europeans go on holiday so apparently it was very quiet! It still seemed very busy to me minus the queues.Definitely a good time to visit.
One morning we went for a long walk in the forest( 4000 acres which is accessible to all for recreation including dedicated horse riding trails.Jeff even spotted a deer.
