London day excursions

We were very fortunate to have Horton Road in Hackney as our base.
Daily with our Oyster Card in hand, we have ventured onto the rail system both above and below ground.
It felt like we were on a giant monopoly board, all the places and names were so familiar.
One day we popped out at Harrods, a store I had always wanted to visit. It wasn't at all what I expected all very modern now.
The food hall however did not dissapoint,it was over flowing with all sorts of delights.
We bought our lunch there and walked to Hyde Park for a Picnic. We watched horses being exercised and dogs being walked.
From there we walked down Sloane Street to Sloane Square and on to Rochester Row to visit the church my Mum and Dad were married in, in 1951.
